Amal Alabdulkarim

Center of Excellence for Earth and Space Science

Amal Alabdulkarim is a Research Specialist at the Center of Excellence for Earth and space sciences at KACST and Caltech. She is currently working on the Advanced Rapid Imaging and Analysis (ARIA) Project and the Data Visualization (Eyes on the Earth) Project.

She received her bachelor’s degree in the field of Information technology from King Saud University Specializing in Web and Multimedia with first-class honors. She was also awarded as the ideal student at King Saud University for the year 2016. Furthermore, Amal’s graduation project “Inform: Me Location based Content using iBeacon technology” has won several awards and was published in international conferences. She also was the Google Student Ambassador in King Saud University for the academic year 2014-2015 where she presented many workshops on integrating technology to increase academic performance. Moreover, she lead the Digital Minds Club, IEEE Student Branch at King Saud University for two consecutive years.

In addition, she enjoys working on challenging projects, participating in competitions or volunteering for global causes. Her research interests include cognitive science, robotics and artificial intelligence.
